Nyx - Dryad Realm
Date: 2022-11-06 08:45 pm (UTC)The fae realm is its own small island, full of thick forests, strange creatures, and other-worldly foliage. Giant mushrooms, huge flowers. Very beautiful and fairytale like.
Major exports include things like alchemy ingredients, pure magic, and crystals.
No religions here.
The Dryad's seem friendly, however they are not friendly to strangers in their realm. They expect travelers to announce themselves formally, and not wander too deep into the woods. It seems like they might be hiding something, though no one knows what.

Date: 2022-11-07 08:21 am (UTC)There's magic, but it comes from other realms, mostly. There are dragons - native to the place, unfortunately - but they're kept captive by the Crown. In fact, that's where most of the royal's power comes from; they could unleash hell if they wished to do so.
They're kinda medieval in their religious beliefs and deviations from a 'normal' lifestyle are not generally accepted.

He does not tolerate clients mistreating his employees. He's very protective of them. Rude people end up on his dinner plate.

What is an artificer? :)
Masters of invention, artificers use ingenuity and magic to unlock extraordinary capabilities in objects. They see magic as a complex system waiting to be decoded and then harnessed in their spells and inventions. Artificers use a variety of tools to channel their arcane power. To cast a spell, an artificer might use alchemist's supplies to create a potent elixir, calligrapher's supplies to inscribe a sigil of power, or tinker's tools to craft a temporary charm. The magic of artificers is tied to their tools and their talents, and few other characters can produce the right tool for a job as well as an artificer.

He keeps being told that he should be worrying about problems with other realms, but he's a wait-until-it-happens kind of king.

He sometimes feels like he is the King, since so many of his suggestions become law. It's good to be (the advisor behind the) King.
Bond
Date: 2022-11-10 04:07 am (UTC)Bond is a pirate king and controls the waters between the realms. No one island kingdom can hope to take on Bond's fleet and all travel and trade between realms is subject to "pay or perish".
The pirate king is known to be fair, but also brutal and swift. His crew are the most loyal, and just as bloodthirsty.
Nearly all the sovereigns have had parlay with Bond and it is rare to battle, but travel the seas at your own peril.

Date: 2022-11-15 10:00 pm (UTC)Instead, the pirates are his family and have been since he can remember. Some say he's been sold to Bond, some say it was charity on the Pirate King's behalf. No one knows but Bond.
He speaks to the dead and sometimes they tell him about treasure, which makes him a valuable addition to the crew. He's not one for fighting, but - when sober - he can summon the corpses of dead pirates to fight for him.
He's not often sober.

Date: 2022-11-10 04:11 am (UTC)Everyone knows the Daoine are smug and elitist. The Queen rules with an iron fist and everything is a deal. Everything is intrigue and maneuvers. Everything is status.
Willy, the youngest of the queen's sons, decided one day he would rather see what the world had to offer rather than live in the court anymore. He struck out with little but his clothes and his instrument. He's determined to travel to every realm. His mother assigned him the term ambassador, something he doesn't take seriously at all.
John Constantine

Stories abound about the strange magician alone on the outskirts. Some say he's killed men. Some say he controls the weather. Some say he's plotting the downfall of the king.
John keeps to himself, leaving questions unanswered.
Hex
Date: 2022-11-11 06:30 am (UTC)It isn't only an inn and tavern. Hex is a witch. His magic comes from his nan and the power of knowledge. Knowledge of herbs and minerals. For a price he'll try to bend the will of nature. He's much better at curing infection than he is at calling love to someone.
It certainly isn't the finest inn in all of Great Harbor, but there are times a place like the Broom and Cat is just where men need to meet to keep things quiet. Or where royalty may need to be clandestine. Hex doesn't ask questions.
There are no snitches in this part of town.
That also means that Hex needs to circulate as Maddie serves the ale and Mark runs the kitchen. There's a thieves code, but it only applies to other thieves. Hex's broad form and friendly smile prevents fights before they begin.
He also, somehow, knows everything. He almost knows what will happen before it does, simply by listening to the hundreds of voices who come through his inn. There's nothing magical about it, but when he predicts the future like some sort of oracle, it only solidifies him in Great Harbor as a powerful witch.
