Hex is a street medic. You can find him to patch up all sorts of messes, and he'll keep his mouth shut. He makes most of his credits in underground fights. He was a medic in the war and has few injuries have landed him with implants. He uses them to his advantage in the cage.
When he's not doing either of those, Hex has a busy social life. He can be found in the clubs and everyone knows that if they can find him, he might have a little something to make the night more fun. Corporate grade fun.
Though he was always something of a prodigy when it came to computer programming, Harry enlisted in the military at a young age at the encouragement of his father, and immediately displayed aptitude and leadership skills. In his military career he was known for his tactical skills and rose through the ranks, but he still felt that he was meant for something else, especially as the war exposed him to the realities of a world consumed by warfare, where technology played a pivotal role in shaping the course of battles.
After the war he knew how important it was to safeguard the technology that drives the world. With a vision to create a better future (and a sizeable inheritance) he established his own tech company, Hart Industries, harnessing his military knowledge and forging strategic partnerships to pioneer cybernetics, artificial intelligence, and advanced weaponry.
But also... driven by his experiences in the military and a desire to prevent the misuse of technology, he was also driven to take on the responsibility of protecting the innocent and preserving global stability. With his sizeable resources from the success of his company he founded The Kingsmen, a secret organization composed of highly skilled operatives handpicked from military and espionage backgrounds.
Publicly, he is one of the most famous men in the world, his technologies having infiltrated much of society. But for fewer in the know... he's also one of the most powerful, for reasons that have nothing to do with Hart Industries.
He thinks that he's doing all of this for the greater good. That's not always so clear.
Also, despite a war injury where he lost his eye, Harry refuses ALL cybernetic implants. As a result he wears the same augmented reality glasses that many do, but with one of the lenses blacked out.
Q is the current Quartermaster at MI6, a 'former' hacker, and all around expert in all things tech. He has a sharp tongue and a million secrets. Q isn't just his code name, the moment he became Quartermaster it became his whole identity, the only name he goes by, the only life of his still on record- His whole past deleted the moment he took the title.
One of the reasons he took the job. Maybe the only reason.
And that was all it was meant to be, a job. ...Then he met James and things got complected. The last thing he needed was a crush on a bloody double-o.
Maxwell is a hacker, whose handle is well known- Even if he, himself, is a nobody. He's the main suspect in the murder of at least three men- Or, rather, Silver Hammer is. Maxwell himself is nowhere to be found on file, a ghost in a city of known quantities.
His motives are known only to him.
Maxwell is a quiet man, soft spoken, but surprisingly charming. He works at a small club called Input in the area once known as Camden Town, a place notorious for being a known hackspace, black market hub, and home to some of the best fixers in London. Input fronts as a sort of 'host club', where people can pay for company while they drink- Or pay a bit extra for more. Hiding illegal activities behind questionable ones is a surprisingly good cover.
Max himself has been a sex worker for years, and continues to be long after laws were passed that left most sex workers replaced with bots and holograms. He's also fitted with some tech that has long since been banned from the market.
Roboticist, hobby psychologist and biology enthusiast. Might be considered a Frankenstein of this era, but more subtle.
Hannibal works at Hart Industries and while publicly he is loyal to his boss, he privately doesn't trust him.
He wants to ever improve AI, make it as close to human as possible and is not opposed to usung humans to experiment. This his boss Harry doesn't know about. He just knows a passionate roboticist and one of his best employees.
Nyx is his most successful creation. He loves the AI as he would a son. Nyx doesn't know Hannibal is his father and that pains him. He therefore continues working on creating an improved version of Nyx, in his basement, using electronics and human remains. Where begotten? That's a secret.
He's old-fashioned and has only limited enhancements for himself, favoring seeing the world exactly how it is.
Aaron's been accused of many things from cult leader to evil conspiracist, which amuses him more than anything. He thinks of himself as a simple man with a simple mission; to bring peace of mind to a chaotic, fast-paced world.
He doesn't have any enhancements, not anymore. There was a time when his work involved fighting Holy wars and several enhancements had been built into him for increased strength and speed. He's torn them all out and all that's left is the scars.
His church, which once upon a time no doubt towered above the houses in the street, now is surrounded by much taller buildings.
He is a priest and he is loyal to the Church, but he doesn't let it interfere much with his daily work.
Nyx exists in two states, one of which only Hannibal can activate. The first is his dream state, in which he has no idea he's an AI built from flesh and tech. In this state he often suffers from minor memory loss, but lives his life as a normal man. ...Mostly normal anyway. Nyx is a well known singer songwriter who started his career as a poet. Now he's even starting to get acting jobs, and his fame continues to grow.
In his meta state, which at the moment only Hannibal can activate, Nyx is aware of everything. He knows what he is, who his father is, and a few other little nuggests of truth that Dream!Nyx is blind to.
During his early career as a well respected doctor within the government healthcare system, House encountered firsthand the flaws and incompetence of the bureaucratic machinery. Their neglect and faulty procedures led to an accident that left House with a permanent limp and chronic pain.
Also - aware of the limitations and risks associated with cybernetic prosthetics, House made a calculated decision to refuse one for his own injury. Having witnessed firsthand the flaws and vulnerabilities of the government-sanctioned healthcare system, he knew that relying on a prosthetic might come at the cost of surrendering control over his own body to external technology. Yeah, no.
Of course, this meant that he remained in pain. So House turned to an high-tech drug called 4U to find relief. It is tailored to each user's unique physiology, and allows House to function while battling the constant agony caused by his injury. Of course, he's dangerously addicted.
Also, despite his own refusal for a prosthetic, his interest in working outside the system and helping those who couldn't work within it led him to push the boundaries of cybernetic medicine and treatments, including prosthetics and technological enhancements.
Though he's blackballed within the government healthcare system, his is exceptionally well known, even among the very wealthy and connected. A patent that he sold years ago also resulted in his ability to set up a well-funded clinic that operates outside the healthcare system. He will charge handsomely for those who can afford it and very little for those who can't.
He is still a misanthropic asshole. With a squishy middle.
Naamah's Temple is the most renowned pleasure house in all of London. There, a replicant's purpose transcends mere physical pleasure and transcends into the realm of religious devotion.
Alcuin is a pleasure robot and well aware of his purpose, though (unknowing to him) he was a somewhat experimental model also designed to have high intelligence so that he has an understanding of human psychology, desires, and the intricacies of intimate connections. Through adaptive learning, Alcuin has developed an astute perception of individual preferences. But as with all of the others in Naamah's Temple, his programming has been intricately woven with the belief that pleasure holds a sacred significance.
Also, at the behest of the mysterious Naamah, he also uses these skills to understand and manipulate secrets. Many of these encounters he is programmed to immediately forget.
Though... recently as he has been navigating the intricacies of pleasure and connection, he is beginning to question the nature of his existence.
An orphan not so much recruited to as groomed for the 00 division. A top student, Bond quickly became a Commander in the Navy, rose to MI6 and then became a Double 0 one fateful night in a men's room with his bare hands and so much blood.
Bond had a romance with Harry Hart, but differences in the directions of their lives split them apart bitterly. He married briefly, mere hours before she died. And then there was Vesper, whose betrayal wounded Bond more deeply than he will admit to anyone, even himself.
He's refused all enhancements but Q's SmartBlood, which he wasn't given a choice.
Years ago, in the early days of cybernetics, Kersen didn't have a single modification. He was also starting to make a good name for himself in the London drag scene, one of the few in his circle not to incorporate any tech into his act, not even filters or holograms.
One night following a performance there was a terrible accident and he nearly died, thanks to many vital organs being completely non-functional. But then he woke up in Hannibal Lecter's lab, full of experimental cybernetics that left him alive, immortal, sensitive to sunlight, and reliant on synthetic blood.
It was slow going but he managed to build a life for himself again, even investing in a bar called Luddite that features as little tech as possible and doesn't employ any replicants.
