GP - London Calling

[mist_mods]

It had been months now, and London remained. The mist hadn't rolled back in, they hadn't all been dragged back to the icy beaches, and life was normal. ...Sort of. ...At least for the people who'd started in London. For others it was like being dumped somewhere new again, forced to either try and make their way home, or build a new life in a new city.

(OTA! London is here to stay, though the mist is still lurking, waiting to creep back in now and then.)

"Let's keep it classy, let's hit the loo," Fin grinned.

"What? Oh. Right, yes." House pulled out his wallet and paid the tab, then slid off of the stool and picked up his cane. "Lead the way."

The bathroom seemed empty, but Fin still guided them into a stall, locking the door before gracefully dropping to his knees and laying his hands on Greg's thigh.

"You probably could have just done this under the bar," House murmured, even as he leaned against the wall and sighed as the pain slipped away.

Pain shot through him, and Fin bit his lip to keep himself silent as he rode it out. By the time he was done he was trembling, and he steadied himself before daring to get back on his feet.

House had closed his eyes for a moment as the pain eased, but opened them in time to see how shaky Fin was as he got to his feet. "Are you okay? Did that hurt you?"

"Stings. Told you before, my magic's a real bitch about helping others, but it's fine. I can take it," Fin assured him.

There was nothing to be done now, House thought. Though he'd remember this the next time Fin offered.

"All right," he said. "Should we go?"

Fin glanced at his phone again, then nodded.

"Yeah, there should be a car waiting," he added. "Limo, looks like."

"A limo?" House arched an eyebrow. "All right, you really are spoiling me tonight, aren't you."

"Well, if I'm committing to anything idea, I'm going to do it proper," Fin grinned, leading the way out to the limo that was waiting at the curb.

House was so used to looking after Fin that it was actually kind of strange. But he could go with it, following after Fin to where the limo was waiting. "I put myself in your hands."

"Good. I promise to handle you with care," Fin grinned, thanking the driver when he stepped out and opened the door, before letting Greg climb in first.

House climbed into the back of the car and relaxed, thinking that this was a much better plan for his day than he'd anticipated.

When Fin got in, he hesitated and then admitted, "I've missed you."

"Really?" Fin asked, settling in as the driver pulled away from the curb. "I missed you too, Greg. Truly."

"You're only person who gives a shit about me," House muttered, not sure what had prompted him to admit this.

" I doubt that, but I do care, Greg," Fin assured him. "You've been so kind to me. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say you're probably the reason I'm still getting by. ... Getting in to see that shrink has been life changing."

"I am a hell of a doctor," House conceded.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"You're a kind and good man," Fin replied, leaning against him lightly.

"Have you been to The Lanesborough? My assistant pitched some place in Geneva, but I begged her to keep it local. ...I think she was just thrilled I'd given her something to do."

"Is that the one that looks a bit like a fancy hospital?" House asked.

[prince_of_nymphs]

"I believe it was a hospital at some point. I sort of remember it being in the news when it opened as a hotel," Fin replied, looking thoughtful. "If that's off putting I can see if there's somewhere else."

House chuckled. "No, it's fine. But if it looks like a hospital on the inside, we're leaving because we're probably about to get murdered."

[prince_of_nymphs]

"I think it's meant to be quite posh inside," Fin chuckled. "She's somehow gotten us something called the 'Buckingham Suite'."

"Sounds fit for a king," House said, and actually the thought of it was quite nice.

"Oooh, says here they'll bring us tea when we check in. Could fancy a cuppa," he admitted.
